Damien Omen II

Terrifying musical follow up to The Omen and without doubt the scariest of the trilogy scores. Goldsmith ups the tempo and creates a black mass to his Oscar winning first. Chorus is now even colder creating some unsettling 'ugly' vocalisations while orchestra lend powerhouse support to this relentlessly chilling second picture. Runaway Train (album) and Broken Ice remain score highlights.

Varese Sarabande again package a fine disc and deserve much praise, wisely scheduling the original album's selections first, then launching into the original score, now replete with demonic electronics and a remastered sound. Wonderful!

Expanded review to follow.
