The Sand Pebbles - 2 CD Set From Intrada!
Wow!
Intrada make this the 12th Jerry Goldsmith CD release of 2011 with a stunner to
follow up the magnificent 2 CD of The Great Train Robbery. This time
another score previously released by Varese and now bettered again by Intrada.
Goldsmith's first epic score remains a landmark in his career and much loved by
film music fans. The gorgeous love theme is an instant classic, the exotic
setting allowed Goldsmith a proper chance to show off his ethnic scoring talent
and the war themed action and drama cemented his phenomenal ability at creating
some of the most intense and exciting music ever heard in film.
The 2 CD set includes the complete score in stereo. Painstakingly remixed and
re-mastered from the original multi tracks. Repel All Borders was last
heard in mono on the Varese version but is now in stereo. The spine tingling
short, but pivotal moment, when McQueen's character first sees the San Pablo in
the docks is now here too! Disc 2 completes the package with a host of
rare alternates plus source music.
Don't miss this
Goldsmith classic from the early days! Order today from

The Great Train Robbery - New 2 CD Set From Intrada!
Intrada
has announced a 2CD set featuring the complete score for the hugely enjoyable
1979 Victorian caper The Great Train Robbery (aka The First Great
Train Robbery). The fantastic score has appeared twice on CD, not to mention
the early LPs. The last CD produced by Varese Sarabande appeared to close the
book on the score featuring what appeared to be the complete score bar one lost
cue and showcasing the score in the SACD format. But the sound wasn't quite as
impressive for the majority who only had CD setups. Now Intrada give the score
the deluxe treatment it deserves by presenting the score complete from the 1/4 "
two track session masters with not only the missing Dead Willy cue (the chase
through the slum area of London) but a number of other previously unreleased
cues, alternates and classical source pieces conducted by Goldsmith.
Disc 2 presents the
original album selection and mix. The stunning title is completed with deluxe
packaging and informative liner notes courtesy Jeff Bond. Superb!

Tora! Tora! Tora! - Re-issued By La-La Land
Those who missed Film Score Monthly's
year 2000 release of this stunning Jerry Goldsmith score, will be pleased to
hear that its been
re-issued as a limited edition CD by La-La Land Records. This version will sport
alternative artwork showcasing the film's original theatrical posters and
include notes by Julie Kirgo. The release is again produced by Lukas Kendall of
FSM.
Goldsmith's score is
anchored by a majestic but sombre theme detailing the Japanese and their
methodical attack on Pearl Harbor. The impressive finale attack was left
unscored but the music Goldsmith wrote for the build up remains an enthralling
listen focussing on suspense and drama. Jagged piano lines make frequent
appearances while inventive ethnic percussion and winds build tension and create
a chilling effect at times. Violent action makes an appearance too as the
Japanese pilots prepare for take off. A stunning work that should be in all
Goldsmith collections.

Gremlins From FSM - Complete Score Now Available!
FSM
has finally done it! After what seems a life time to try and license this score
and bring it to Jerry Goldsmith fans, FSM has announced a 2 CD special edition
release of Gremlins! Disc one contains the complete film soundtrack,
clocking in at over 60 minutes. Bonus material closes the disc and is made up of a few alternates and source music. Disc two completes
the package and presents the much derided 'mini album' that was released
back in 1984 at the time of the film. This is the handful of songs plus the
meagre 16
minutes of score that left fans with only a taste of the much loved
score.
Goldsmith delivered a pitch perfect blend of comedy, drama, some romance, action
and suspense with room for pure madness perfectly displayed in the memorable
Gremlins' theme more commonly known as 'the rag'. Goldsmith's mix of
orchestra and electronics was perfect for the time and captured the true essence
of Dante's box office smash.
Well done to all at FSM, Warner Brothers and Universal for making this release a
reality.

Uan Rasey - Chinatown's Trumpet Legend Has Died
Celebrated
Trumpeter Uan Rasey died on September 26th at the grand age of 90. Rasey worked
in Hollywood from the late 40s and became the first trumpet for the legendary
MGM orchestra in 1949. He worked on many of the studio's famous musicals which
included An American in Paris, Singin' in the Rain and Gigi,
He also performed on West Side Story for United Artists and My Fair
Lady for Warner Bros.
He was highly skilled in all genres of music, from classical to big band lead
playing. But Jerry Goldsmith fans will recognise his name from his performance
on numerous Jerry Goldsmith film scores. The most famous being of course
Chinatown. Rasey remarked on his assignment for Chinatown by saying
"There were 40 strings, four pianos, four drummers and one trumpet player.
That was it. I had no idea what the picture was about. Arranger Arthur Morton
told me to play it sexy but like it’s not good sex! That was his interpretation
of it. It was well written, though."
Forever Young And Sleeping With The Enemy CDs
La-La
Land Records now have their two new expanded Jerry Goldsmith soundtracks up for
sale on their website. Forever Young was an enjoyable 1992 Mel Gibson
romantic adventure, with a subtle time travelling element. Gibson played a 40s
test pilot who loses the love of his life and the will to live and agrees to a
cutting edge experiment to be put into suspended animation only to wake up in the
90s. The score was one of Goldsmith's finest of the decade featuring a wonderful
love theme, beautifully touching and melancholy moments, plus exhilarating
action and suspense too. Forever Young is limited to 3000 copies.
Sleeping
With The Enemy was a box office hit in 1991 and saw Julia Roberts, hot
property after her performance in Pretty Woman, playing a terrified wife
of a psycho who loses his temper if the towels aren't lined up perfectly on the
towel rail. She fakes her own death and hopes to start a new life before he
inevitably finds out and catches up with her. Goldsmith anchors the score with
another stunning love theme, this time focussing on melancholy. Add some
unnerving suspense, primarily carried by electronics for Patrick Bergin's
unhinged husband, as well as assured bursts of distinctive Goldsmith action and
suspense, notably heard during The Storm and The Ring. Sleeping
With The Enemy is limited to 3500 copies.
Both titles feature deluxe packaging, re-mastered sound and informative booklet
notes.
Order both before September 26th and get a $5.00 discount.
FSM
To Cease Production Of Soundtrack CDs!
Lukas
Kendall has announced that he is to end the FSM CD label in 2012 when they reach
their 250th CD soundtrack release. Meaning there are just 10 releases to go! FSM
have been pivotal in the preservation of Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack releases
since they started on the composer's catalogue with their release of the film
soundtrack to Stagecoach and The Loaner back in 1998. Forging
relationships with 20th Century Fox, then with Turner and the MGM catalogue, and
most recently working with Warner Brothers and Paramount. Since 1998 they have
released some of the most requested Goldsmith soundtracks, often previously
unreleased with deluxe packaging and when possible presenting complete
soundtrack restorations. Their attention to detail has been second to none and
Goldsmith fans have always known that their passion was in safe hands.
Highlights
have included premieres of 100 Rifles, Tora! Tora! Tora!, the first release of
the actual Patton film soundtrack, the full soundtrack to The Prize,
multi CD sets for The Man From U.N.C.L.E and Dr Kildare, and
difficult restorations like The Satan Bug. Over the last few years we
have seen the first release of the film soundtrack to a Goldsmith classic
Islands In The Stream and the critically acclaimed album to Under Fire,
as well as complete presentations of Twilight Zone The Movie,
Poltergeist and Outland. And the hope for many Goldsmith fans is that
Gremlins will finally see the light of day before the year is out after a
mammoth effort to finally license the complete Goldsmith soundtrack.
It
is not all bad news as Lukas confirms he will remain active in the industry and
continue to work on and produce soundtrack releases for other labels. But we
will all miss those white spines with bold composer credit down the edge of the
CD case, wonderful booklets and dynamic artwork. And the knowledge that the
source material would sound the best it possibly could, whether it was mono or
stereo.
Jerry Goldsmith Online gives special thanks to you for all those wonderful Jerry
Goldsmith CD releases and wishes you luck for the future.
Stagecoach DVD From Twilight Time
Another
rare archive movie featuring music by Jerry Goldsmith has been announced by
specialist DVD label Twilight Time. Stagecoach was the 1966 big budget
remake of the John Wayne classic. Originally Wayne was to have starred but
declined the opportunity and the movie, regardless of a solid supporting cast
and good production values, proved a minor event in the end. Still, Goldsmith
fans keen on hearing how his music played on screen can now pick up the movie in
its original wide screen ratio. The disc comes with the usual extra of
informative booklet and a bonus extra of an isolated score track. Stagecoach
is due for release on October 11th.

Explorers Complete Score From Intrada!
Intrada
has announced a long awaited re-issue of a Goldsmith score much loved by his
fans. The 1985 Joe Dante Sci-Fi adventure Explorers wasn't much of a hit
after the success of Gremlins for Dante but Goldsmith's score became a
firm favourite and one of the composer's finest scores. Its an eclectic mix with
a soaring powerful theme, warmth and melancholy, trademark orchestral action and
suspense plus comedic rock scoring and inventive electronic bells and whistles.
Not surprisingly back in 1985 we had a short album with only 30 minutes of
highlights and a few songs. But fans spotted a lengthy score and missing
highlights. Now Intrada bring the full Explorers score to life on a new
limited edition CD.
The 3000 discs sold
out in less than a day and has prompted Intrada to take the unusual step of
repressing the album for those who missed out. So if you haven't ordered this
Goldsmith gem, beautifully presented by Intrada with their customary deluxe
packaging then don't delay and place your order
now!
Two More Goldsmith Titles Due From La-La Land!
La-La Land has
pre-announced not one but two Goldsmith expanded soundtrack CDs for release
September 13th. First is Forever Young, originally planned for release
back in July and the completely unexpected expanded re-issue of the 90's Julia
Roberts thriller Sleeping With The Enemy! Both scores originally had
solid official albums released at the time but La-La Land promise previously
unreleased music for both scores. Check out La-La Land's website September 13th
for artwork and ordering details. Forever Young is limited to 3000 copies
and Sleeping With The Enemy is limited to 3500 copies.
Wild Rovers On DVD
Yet
another archive title with music by Jerry Goldsmith makes it to on demand DVD.
This time the Blake Edwards western Wild Rovers starring William
Holden and Ryan O'Neal and featuring one of the composer's most poignant scores,
with rousing highlights headlined by the stunning Bronco Bustin' music.
The title is available from the
WBshop.com for US only sales, or you can order from
Amazon.com if you are an international buyer. The film is in stereo,
with Goldsmith's score dominating the channels and sounding very good indeed.
Bronco Bustin' also opens the film as an overture and the alternate version
appears as entr'acte and exit music. The film is also in its original wide screen ratio.
The complete score was released by Film Score Monthly on CD back in September
2003 but is now OOP.
Contract On Cherry St - On Demand DVD!
On
Demand DVDs are arriving all the time and are proving a great way of releasing
very obscure titles to hard core fans of the movies and of course fans of the
music scores. Columbia Classics have a large catalogue available with one title
of interest to Jerry Goldsmith fans. Contract On Cherry St was a TV cop
movie from the late 70s with Frank Sinatra no less starring. The score appeared
on a Prometheus limited edition CD in 1999.
Screen
Archives have just confirmed they will start selling the Columbia
Classics titles very soon so check out their website for further details. US
customers can order the title now from
Amazon.
Intrada Plans Hoosiers CD - One Day!
Intrada has revealed
they are seeking to license Jerry Goldsmith's Oscar nominated score to
Hoosiers. But make it clear the license process for this one is tricky and
may take some time, perhaps even years! So fans are warned not to expect any
announcements any time soon.
The album is still available on CD on the TER label with its UK title of Best
Shot. But we assume Intrada's intentions is to present the definitive
version of the whole score with their customary deluxe presentation.
Police Story On DVD
Shout
Factory follow up their recent DVDs of Damnation Alley and Rio Conchos
with another rare title featuring music by Jerry Goldsmith. Police Story
was an acclaimed early 70s TV series that followed the lives of Los Angeles
Police officers. The show was renowned for being gritty and realistic and
focussed on what it was like being a Cop on and off the street. Goldsmith wrote
the theme and pilot episode score. His music was adapted at times and used as
library music in later episodes. Prometheus released a limited edition CD
featuring Goldsmith's score back in 2000. The DVD is due for release September
6th. Order from

Flim Flam Man DVD From Twilight Time
Specialist
DVD label Twilight Time has announced another DVD movie premiere that features the
music of Jerry Goldsmith. This time it is the likeable comedy drama The Flim
Flam Man (known outside the US as One Born Every Minute). The film
was directed by Irvin Kershner and starred George C. Scott as a rural con man
who takes a young army deserter (Michael Sarrazin) under his wing and teaches
him the tricks of the trade, while being pursued by the local Sheriff. The movie
is presented in its original 2:35 wide screen ratio and comes with an isolated
score and trailer as bonus material. The DVD is released on August 9th. Jerry
Goldsmith's score is also available on CD from
FSM.

Babe TV Movie On DVD
The
poignant 1975 TV movie Babe is available from Warner Brother's On Demand
DVD service. The movie told the powerful and uplifting true story of Babe
Didrikson Zaharias. From her early Texas tomboy days to her Gold Medal triumphs
at the 1932 Olympics, her remarkable career as a champion golfer, her fulfilling
marriage to wrestler George Zaharias, the love of her life, and her final battle
with cancer. Jerry Goldsmith's moving score was rewarded with the 3rd of 5 Emmys
the composer received over his long career. The DVD is presented in its original
1:33 aspect ratio and is in mono. Unlike other Warner On Demand releases this
title will ship outside the US. Of course FSM released Jerry Goldsmith's score
for Babe on CD, and is still available from
Screen Archives.

Forever Young Expanded CD Due From La-La Land
La-La Land has
revealed they have an expanded release of Jerry Goldsmith's score to the
enjoyable romantic adventure Forever Young in the pipeline. The score was
a pitch perfect mix of romance, drama, action and thrills and features a truly
gorgeous love theme. A score album was released at the time of the movie on the
short lived Big Screen Records, who disappeared after releasing a number of high profile and expensive
soundtracks. They also released an album of Goldsmith's big orchestral comedy
score to Dennis, which may mean that could be re-issued at some point
too.
At the time of writing the title does not have a release date and was originally
intended to showcase at Comic Con, but has since been pulled. Look out for news
on this title at
La-La Land
Records and this news page in the future.
Studs Lonigan CD Re-Issue From Quartet Records
It
seems only a short while ago the Varese CD Club edition of Studs Lonigan
was available. But that was 2002 and the disc has been out of print for some
years now. So, for those who missed out you maybe interested in this re-issue by
Quartet Records. The content is the same, minus an extra mono version of the
main title but has been 're-mastered'. The disc is produced by Intrada's Douglas
Fake and features a lavish 16 page booklet with liner notes by Jeff Bond. This
release is limited to 1000 copies. Regardless of the obscure nature of the film,
the score remains one Jerry Goldsmith's finest early efforts and is notable for
featuring a fantastic piano performance from a young John Williams.

Bad Girls - New Expanded CD From La-La Land
La-La Land Records
has announced an expanded release of Jerry Goldsmith's last western score -
Bad Girls. The female lead 90's adventure did not prove much of a success at the
box office, but Jerry Goldsmith's score was a thrilling highlight encompassing a
memorable theme and featuring rousing action that proved popular amongst
fans. The Original CD released by Fox Film Scores ran to 40 minutes and is now
long out of print. La-La Land present what must be the complete score at 60
minutes and adds informative
liner notes and slightly improved artwork. Limited to 3000 copies.

Newman as a recipient who gets embroiled in a cold war conspiracy. The movie is
presented re-mastered in its original 2:35 wide screen format and features one
of Jerry Goldsmith's exciting early thriller scores. The score is of course

Masada - Complete Scores 2 CD Set From Intrada!
Intrada
announce a spectacular 2 CD set featuring the complete scores written by Jerry
Goldsmith and Morton Stevens for the epic TV mini series Masada. The
series appeared as a theatrical film in Europe and was known as The
Antagonists. At the time Jerry Goldsmith re-recorded highlights of his music
score with the National Philharmonic Orchestra in London and it was released on
the MCA label, later issued on CD by Varese. But this is the first official
release of the complete original scores recorded in the US. Goldsmith had
intended to score all four episodes but due to delays in making the epic
production Goldsmith had to move on after the first two episodes to take up
other contracted assignments. Goldsmith recommended friend and fellow tunesmith
Morton Stevens to complete the series with scores for episodes three and four.
Now we can enjoy the complete original soundtracks in all their glory and savour
Jerry Goldsmith's incredible and unforgettable Masada theme once again on
this stunning limited edition 2 CD set replete with informative notes from John
Burlingame. Intrada reveal the scores to be in excellent condition and are in
stunning stereo. Goldsmith's selections alone allow fans to now enjoy some
classic Goldsmith action and emotionally charged drama missed off the original
album release.

performed by the Tenerife Film Orchestra and Choir. The spectacular concert
featured music from The Illustrated Man, The Swarm, The Final
Conflict, Capricorn One, The Sum of All Fears, The Omen,
Planet of the Apes, Star Trek: First Contact, Gremlins,
Poltergeist and Total Recall!

Vintage Goldsmith From Intrada - City Of Fear!
Intrada
has announced a limited edition CD release for one of Jerry Goldsmith's earliest
assignments. City Of Fear was only the composer's second theatrical movie
and dates back to 1959! City Of Fear was a minor B movie - film noir
about an escaped convict who steals a canister thinking it to be pure Heroin but
is in fact deadly radioactive material.
City Of Fear
is a fascinating opportunity to hear a legendary composer at the beginning of an
incredible career and straight away showing his enormous potential. Although low
budget and utilising stock footage to add atmosphere Goldsmith's agitated and
suspenseful scoring gives the movie much needed gravitas. Goldsmith's use of
edgy Piano (performed by John Williams), low brass and trade mark percussion
elevate the picture considerably.
Intrada present the complete score save a few missing seconds in clean mono and
one cue only surviving with minor sound effects. Add superb packaging and liner
notes from Jeff Bond to round out the impressive release.

Still no word on audio though.

also listing for pre-order another Shout Factory DVD release featuring both

First Knight - 2 CD Set From La-La Land!!!
Jerry Goldsmith's
epic symphonic score to the 1995 Sean Connery/Richard Gere adventure First
Knight makes it to a definitive deluxe two CD set from La-La Land Records!
Epic released the original Goldsmith produced album at the time of the movie but
that could only take in a handful of highlights. The lengthy score was
brimming with spectacular set pieces, powerful drama and an
exquisite love theme. Goldsmith was in his element writing for high adventure
which meant an abundance of exhilarating brass and percussion led orchestral
action, moving and heartbreaking music for the film's finale with powerhouse
chorus to send this score into the stratosphere. La-La Land present the complete
film soundtrack on disc 1 with the album presentation and alternates on disc 2. Just don't miss this one, it
was truly one of the composer's greatest works.
The set is limited to 5000 copies and will be available to order from April

exciting bonus feature in the form of an isolated music and effects track as

the Varese Jerry Goldsmith At 20th Century Fox Box set. Though it is worth
pointing out the movie features very little score. The film is in black and
white and in mono.
The Homecoming From FSM Now Available
As
promised FSM has delivered their first Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack of 2011 in the
shape of one of the composer's most intimate scores. The
Homecoming would go on to inspire the popular TV series The Waltons,
and inspire Jerry Goldsmith to write one of his most iconic themes. Though
please note this TV movie from 1971 did not feature said theme. The emotional and sometimes dramatic score is performed by a small group of
players and clocks in at just over 20 minutes, but provides Goldsmith fans with
one of the composer's heartfelt and rarest works. Not
surprisingly the score is presented in clean mono but the nature of the music should
not hinder listening pleasure.
The Homecoming is joined by Rascals and Robbers, an early effort
from the rising star of film music in 1982 - the one and only James Horner.

The Homecoming Due From FSM
Lukas Kendall has
confirmed Jerry Goldsmith's score to The Homecoming (1971) - the feature
length movie that inspired the TV series The Waltons, will be released on
CD by FSM at the end of March or early April. Note the movie did not utilise the
famous theme that appeared in the TV series. The score is partnered off with an
early James Horner score Rascals And Robbers from 1982.
The Goldsmith Project III - The American Youth Symphony
THE
AMERICAN YOUTH SYMPHONY, one of the United States' leading youth orchestras,
will hold a tribute to Oscar-and-Emmy-winning composer JERRY GOLDSMITH on
Sunday, March 13 at UCLA’s Royce Hall.
This event marks the culmination of the Goldsmith Project, an acclaimed
three-year exploration of the legendary film composer’s artistry. An afternoon
symposium presented in partnership with the Film Music Society and an evening
concert – both free – showcase Goldsmith’s work in the later years of his
career. Jerry Goldsmith's final two decades in film were among his most
productive and popular, employing not only orchestra and chorus but also
cutting-edge electronic sounds. He worked with such filmmakers as Steven
Spielberg, Joe Dante, Michael Crichton and David Anspaugh, scoring films in
every genre. Conducting the 102-member orchestra is famed Oscar-nominated
composer DAVID NEWMAN.
During the afternoon symposium, Mr. Newman will conduct excerpts from the 1983
film Under Fire. Daily Variety and LA Times film-music writer JON BURLINGAME
will moderate a panel of experts who worked with Goldsmith before he passed away
in 2004. The panel includes music editor Kenneth Hall, recording mixer Bruce Botnick, and agent Richard Kraft.
The evening concert will be performed in two parts. The first half will feature
AYS Music Director ALEXANDER TREGER, performing the violin part in Mendelssohn’s
Violin Concerto.
The second half of the performance is composed of selections from Twilight
Zone (1983), First Blood (1982), Basic Instinct (1992),
Poltergeist (1982), Legend (1985) and Rudy (1993). Night of
the Beast, The Light and the Main Title score from
Poltergeist will be premiering in a new arrangement for the concert hall by
David Newman. Film footage from Ridley Scott’s fantasy Legend will be
shown on the big screen along with a live performance of the film’s masterpiece
Dress Waltz.
The Goldsmith Project III is made possible thanks to the generous support of
Carol Goldsmith, Krystyna and David Newman, and a sponsorship from BMI.
The afternoon symposium and evening concert are ADMISSION FREE.
Reservations are strongly recommended - please visit
www.aysymphony.org, or
call (310) 470-2332. Royce Hall is located at 340 Royce Drive, Los Angeles, CA

Damnation Alley Finally Coming To DVD!
It
looks as if Damnation Alley is finally coming to DVD! Anchor Bay were
close to releasing the film back in the early 00s but the property was taken
back by Fox and turned up on ITunes/Amazon to
download in full screen. But now we have
news that specialist DVD label
Shout Factory
have obtained the rights to release the movie from Fox. Details of the DVD
have not been announced and the title's release date remains tentative. But it
looks like we will finally get to enjoy this cult movie. Let us hope they preserve the film's wide
screen aspect ratio and most importantly can make use of the original "Sound
360" surround track and truly bring Goldsmith's stunning action adventure score
to life.
We of course still live in hope someone will find the electronic stems, or
re-create them and bring the full score out on CD. Fingers crossed on all fronts.
Check out the Shout
Factory website and keep a look out for more news!
Gremlins CD In The Works From FSM
It
is no surprise to hear that the film music labels have been trying their hardest
to release a proper soundtrack album to Jerry Goldsmith's wildly popular 1984
score to the box office smash Gremlins. The original Geffen album had a
meagre 15 minutes from the score plus a handful of songs. Since the AFM relaxed
their policy on re-use fees for limited edtion CD releases and the studios have
allowed access to their vaults Gremlins has been a hot property on the
top of most label's lists. But no one knew if and when this might happen. Now we
have a reveal by SAE on Facebook that a CD would be released "sometime this
year". The fireworks went off and party poppers were pulled. But Lukas Kendall
at FSM has countered this by saying on his message board that there are still
"some major licensing issues to be resolved" between Warner Brothers and
Universal Music, who control the Geffen catalogue. And he cannot say how
long it will take.
Our fingers are crossed that 2011 will see the dream full release of one of
Jerry Goldsmith's most requested scores. At least we know it will be handled by
one of the finest - FSM. Good luck Lukas and all involved in making this score
CD a reality.
Link CD Re-Issue From Intrada - Sold Out!
Intrada
announced their first Jerry Goldsmith CD release for 2011 in the form of a
straight re-issue of the soundtrack album to the bizarre 1986 thriller Link. The score was largely orchestral but with
added synthesisers providing amongst other things more percussion and used to
showcase the comical Link theme, a reference to the Orangutan's circus
performing days.
The recording was one of Mike Ross Trevor's finest, revealing superb orchestral
detail while not overly favouring the electronics. The original Varese disc
sounded pretty good but Intrada promise an improved sound along with new album
artwork and notes by Jeff Bond. Intrada sort the complete recording but sadly
the tapes are missing leaving only the album master available.
The disc was limited to just 2000 copies and sold out within its first day of
release! The disc would have been of interest to fans whom could not afford the
inflated prices charged for a second hand copy of the Varese version.
The Satan Bug - DVD On Demand From MGM
MGM has formally
announced a selection of rare titles for release on the DVD-R on demand service.
The batch includes the Jerry Goldsmith scored biological thriller The Satan Bug
from 1965 directed by John Sturges. The disc is scheduled for release on the 2nd February.
The movie is presented in its original wide screen aspect ratio and comes with
the film's trailer. Picture is nothing special but nonetheless solid and
comparable to the old Laser Disc. Sound is of course mono but again solid
revealing Jerry Goldsmith's very suspenseful score.
